Hello, hola, guten Tag, uEP!
I am Gabriel Pastor Hernández, a Spanish architect who has been living and working in Hamburg, Germany since 2012. Born in Madrid and raised in Mallorca, I nurtured my passion for architecture and design at the Polytechnic Architecture School in Madrid. There, I had the privilege of learning from some of Spain’s most influential architects of the past three decades.
Following my studies, my curiosity for different cultures led me to Hamburg, where I began my career as an architect and gained valuable professional experience. Working for some of Hamburg’s most influencial architectural firms, I had the opportunity to participate in both local and international competitions and projects of all scales and typologies.
Over the past few years, I have been involved in conceiving and developing various types of projects, including residential complexes, administrative structures, and even art exhibits. Additionally, I have contributed to the design of Hamburg’s iconic congress center, which has presented exciting challenges and enriched my professional growth.
Beyond architecture, I’ve been increasingly drawn to exploring identity, memory, and place through artistic practice. This personal journey led to the creation of En Biel Seia, my artistic project rooted in the cultural heritage of the Balearic Islands. Through digital rendering, animation, and 3D printing, I reinterpret ancestral stories and traditional crafts as contemporary digital artefacts by blending folklore and technology in search of a new form of storytelling.
I see design as a tool for connection between people, histories, and environments. I’m always open to collaborating across disciplines and welcome opportunities to engage with teams and institutions working at the intersection of architecture, art, and technology.
